Chathuranga Basnayaka

I am a Research Associate in the Centre for Telecommunications Research at Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC). I was born in Sri Lanka and completed my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Information Engineering (with honors) from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, in 2017.Prior to joining SLTC in 2019, I worked at University of Sri Jayawardanapura, Sri Lanka and University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka.

My research interests lie in the UAV communication, Age of Information , and Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication. The primary goal of my research is to develop a ultra reliable low latency communication system for the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) by integrating UAV communication system into the existing and future cellular networks while minimizing age of information of the system.

This paper aims at providing insights into the latest UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) communication technologies through investigation of suitable task modules, antennas, resource handling platforms, and network architectures

Applications of UAV

In this project, we focus on designing an affordable device to provide wireless power to access limited underground systems and devices.
